History

It all started with Carlos Vieira having a life long dream of becoming a racecar driver.  In February of 2007 Carlos decided to buy an old racecar and asked a small group of friends to join him at the track.  The small group of crazy guys with no experience became what is now well known as Team 51FIFTY.  Their first race was March 31st, 2007.  They pulled into the pits with the car on an open trailer and were determined to figure this sport out.

Since the first race, Team 51FIFTY has come a long way and have accomplished many goals.  Trophy Dash Races, top qualifying times, many top 5 finishes and they had their first win.  They also strive to do more than just race cars.  They are involved in the community and help to raise money for important organizations.

In 2008 Team 51FIFTY raised close to $25,000 at a dinner/dance fundraiser and donated all proceeds to the Challenged Family Resource Center of Merced, Ca.

This money has already been put to good use for such things as enriching parental hatherings, updating the library, buying computer stations to make picture exchange communication systems (P.E.C.S.) and to research and create information packets regarding Autism.

Team 51FIFTY has been working extremely hard to make this 2009 season a great success and hope to see you at the races!
