Mr. Vieira

We would like to thank you on behalf of our 8 yr old son, Jackson, who raced on Saturday night in the Minicup division and won.  Prior to even racing, he decided on his own that if he won, he would donate his winnings to autism.  He raced his heart out and did win.  He later told Mrs. Nocetti that he wanted to donate his winnings, she took him to your hauler to meet you.  You took time to speak with Jackson and was impressed by a big racer like you for sponsoring the race, giving him a much-unexpected bonus and just talking to him.  We have become a fan of you and your team.

Thanks again, Nicky, Dawn and Jackson #15 Minicup

Hi Carlos,

I just wanted to extend my appreciation and my congratulations on a very successful Race for Autism at the Speedway.  It's funny how things work out sometimes, but it couldn't have been any better if you would have scripted it with Mike winning and you finishing third.  I am extremely happy for you and your cause.  I must tell you from my brief experience with you, you seem like a fine young man and you should be very proud of yourself as a man and for your cause.  Our country needs young men such as yourself and it makes me feel better about our future knowing there are young men like you out there.  I want to wish you the very best on your racing career and all your future endeavors.  From where I stand, you have what it takes to be successful no matter what it may be.  Once again, thank you for such a great weekend that produced one of the best races I've ever seen, and congratulations.

Sincerely,

David Holman

Hi guys,

Wow!  Saturday was a fantastic day!  I have been on a lot of runs, and various events, but you guys really rolled out the red carpet, and treated us like royalty!  From all the loot, the great food, and the escort through all the intersections, that was very impressive.  My friends at STAR 212, and my family all had a great time.  My boy is still talking about riding in the "racecar" and my friends about riding around the track.  Then to top it all off, the race was very exciting!  It's very cool that Team 51FIFTY took 1st and 3rd.  Hope Carlos isn't too sore after that finish!  What a great day and a great cause.  THANK YOU ALL, for all you do!!!

Thanks again, that was truly an unforgettable day!

My name is Taylor and I am 5 years old. I loved looking at your car at the Central Valley Walk fundraiser, it was very cool, my teams name is Taylor's Crew. I attend Special Education Preschool 3 days a week and a private Christian preschool 2 days a week.  In the fall I will get to attend Special education Kindergarten, I will get to take the yellow bus everyday!

I wanted to thank you for promoting autism awareness and that that you do for me and all of my friends whom have autism. Right now there is not a cure but if more people become aware then maybe I will have more friends and may be able to go shopping or to any outside event with my mommy, daddy and little sister without people looking at me funny, I have no idea why they do, I am happy to be me.

Emails from Fans:

I just wanted to let you know how thrilled my son was to have had the opportunity to attend last Saturday's 99 Speedway race and see two cars racing for autism.  My husband and son were fortunate enough to chat with those involved with Race for Autism and Autism Speaks.  Our 25 year old son, Todd, faces the challenges of being on the autism spectrum.  However, those challenges seem to be diminished when he is participating in the activities he loves.  Watching car races at the 99 Speedway was an activity that he absolutely loved.  We are so delighted that the track is open again and that people like you are involved in the races.

Sue

Hello,

My name is Michelle.  I knew Carlos from my ex way back in the day.  I was just a kid then.  Carlos met my son Nick last summer.  He seems to always talk about the race he went to with his dad off and on.

So I decided today to look up the 51fifty race team, and could not believe that he raced for Autism.  I literally screamed for Nick and asked him if he knew.  He just looked at me, and said No.  I told him you could have told him about your little brother Charlie.

My son Charlie has a different level of Autism.  He has a genetic disorder known as TSC Tuberous Sclerosis Complex.  He has innumerable brain tumors, which cause him to have low end Autism.  He last summer underwent multiple brain surgeries to try and slow down his seizures.

The strange thing is Charlie goes to Shelby School, I drive by that garage in Livingston every week and never thought anything of it.  Until now.  To be honest I did not even know that Merced had something for Autism.  Now... I have a place that Charlie can be a part of.

Charlie is also a Make A Wish recipient.  He was part of two homecoming parades in Fresno, Clovis East and Buchannan High.  The students raised money for Charlie's with to come true.

I just had to tell Charlie's story.  Having Charlie I always feel like I have to do more.  We live in Hilmar, nad I really do not know anyone else who has someone like Charlie.  I can say that I am glad that Nick knows now what kind of a team he got to meet.  It will mean more to him.

Thanks,

Michelle
